Gini Index of Income Inequality

The Gini Index is a measure of income inequality ranging from 0 to 1. A value of 0 represents perfect income equality (everyone has the same income); a value of 1 represents complete inequality (one person has all the income and others have none).

Bolded values indicate margins of error, hover over them to view in detail.

Data Source: ACS - The American Community Survey (ACS) is an ESTIMATE of each indicator, which means there is a margin of error. Future versions of the dashboard will display margins of error. For now, exercise caution with 1-year estimates for Boone County, the City of Columbia and the Columbia School District. The 5-year estimates (for example 2012-2016) are much more reliable.
